Volunteers are the foundation of Sunset Area VCARS. It is with compassion, empathy, and wanting to make a difference in someones life, that people volunteer. Volunteers make a committment to provide emotional and practical support to victims in their time of need. Their donation of their time and support is what makes this program possible. Thank you for Volunteering! You do, make a difference! Volunteers are supported by the Volunteer Coordinator and other staff. Staff provide support and information to the volunteers providing on-scene assistance as required. However it is the volunteer that attends the scene to provide victims with the support they need. Volunteers will provide: -- temporary practical and emotional support -- transportation -- referrals to long-term service providers within the community -- information about legal assistance/programs -- assist in developing a personalized safety plan for the victim If you would like to become a Volunteer, please contact Sunset Area VCARS using the following contact information.
